Déinim iarracht tabhairt faoi deara an gcóraghrafaíocht atá ar siúl cheana féin is mé ag tabhairt faoi an tionscnamh nua seo, Dúiche. If the choreography is a set of relationships and contexts that unfold within a particular frame, though it’s not found its ultimate form yet, the choreography of Dúiche is already happening. It’s happening in the relationships that have inspired this thinking about language, queer embodiment and environment/ecology and in the relationships with those that have already agreed to support it with energy, interest, care, curiosity and money. Ní bheinn in ann tabhairt faoi an dtionscnamh gach maoiniú ón gComhairle Ealaín, ó Ealaín na Gaeltachta, ó Chomhairle Chondae Phort Láirge. And I’m trying to notice what the quality of this unfolding choreography is so it can guide my recognition and development of the work.

Thanks to the generosity and welcome of Cath James at South East Dance, I hosted a panel discussion with choreographers Dam Van Huynh, Jules Cunningham and geographer Nick McGlynn of the University of Brighton as part of the Undisciplined Festival. I acknowledge the generosity in particular because the festival created a space for this unformed work to begin to articulate itself and to connect my emerging personal articulation of the research with the ideas and work of these fellow queer creative thinkers and movers.
