Starlight

The thrilling darkness of an unlit stage becomes the playground of a star who entices, orders and seduces you with his sparkle and shade. Come closer to another étoile who leads you to a glittering ending.

Starlight is a new promenade performance that surprises the audience with its unexpected tour through the Firkin Crane – Cork’s iconic home of dance. You’ll have stellar company for the journey: Matthew Morris has danced with DV8, Rex Levitates, Siobhan Davies and in Fearghus’ Match, Niche and Tabernacle; Peggy Grelat-Dupont has danced with the Forsythe Company, Lyon Opera Ballet, Maguy Marin and James Thiérrée. Join these elegant, experienced and enchanting dancers for a dazzling dander.

It’s a mesmerising, joyous work’, Caomhan Keane, entertainment.ie Read review

Starlight is a provocative, beguiling work whose power resides in the performers’ proximity to their audience. They’re so in-your-face that you can smell their sweat. In another discipline, that might be too close for comfort: In dance, it seems just right. Marc O’Sullivan, The Irish Examiner Read review

‘Transformation is the guiding element of a sub-text that questions even as it explores….both Matthew Morris and Peggy Grelat Dupont display their technical and physical assurance.’Mary Leland, Irish Times
